“This is the kind of Peruvian coffee that reminds us how quickly quality is moving forward. The structure is refined, the sweetness feels effortless, and the finish just keeps going. Ebert and his family have created something truly special at Finca Artemira.” / Oskar, Co-founder, Standout Coffee Farm: Finca Artemira Producer: Ebert Hauman Villegas Location: Salinas, San Jose de Lourdes, San Ignacio, Cajamarca, Peru Altitude: 1900msl Variety: Marshell Fermentation: Double anaerobic Process: Washed This Marshell lot comes from Finca Artemira in Cajamarca, where Ebert Huaman Villegas and his family combine regenerative farming, careful processing and long-term varietal development to produce coffees with clarity and precision. Taste description: The profile is elegant, floral and quietly vibrant. In the cup, you’ll find notes of yellow fruit, sugarcane sweetness and wildflowers, layered with soft red fruit and a delicate honey-like texture. The acidity is medium-high and refined, supported by a clean structure and a long, transparent finish. A coffee shaped by a new generation of Peruvian producers. Processing follows a carefully controlled double anaerobic washed method. Whole cherries ferment in sealed tanks before depulping and a second slow fermentation stage. The coffee is then washed clean and dried slowly in solar dryers over multiple weeks — preserving clarity while building depth and sweetness. Marshell is a rare expression of Catimor genetics — a variety originally developed for resilience, but here showing remarkable complexity and elegance in the cup. At Finca Artemira, the variety has become known for producing coffees with both structure and aromatic lift, challenging expectations of what Catimor-derived coffees can be. Since taking a leading role at the farm, Ebert has focused on biodiversity, agroforestry and selective planting of varieties such as Geisha, Pink Bourbon and Marshell. His work has already gained recognition within Peru, including placements in both Expo Cajamarca and the Cup of Excellence. A modern Peruvian coffee with precision, softness and quiet complexity. About Marshell Marshell gained attention in Peru after winning the 2019 Cup of Excellence, and has since become one of the country’s most interesting emerging varieties. At Finca Artemira, the plants were grown from seeds sourced from the original winning lineage in Cajamarca. The result is a coffee that combines • resilience in the field • strong productivity • and unexpected elegance in the cup Floral. Structured. Effortless.
