Named after the founder, we chose Mukuru for its unique cup profile - smooth and mellow with notes of stewed stone fruits, a strong cacao undertone, brown sugar sweetness and a citrus acidity. This coffee is a must for those who enjoy Ugandan coffees! Roasted for filter to complement the mellow, complex profile of Mukuru. Norman Mukuru and The Coffee Yard (TCY) team work with over 20 smallholder farmers to source semi-dried naturals. The semi-dried coffee is transported on a 12-hour journey to The Coffee Yard in Eastern Uganda to be finished processing, where the coffee is carefully dried to create a range of distinctive cup profiles. Sourcing high quality coffee in Western Uganda can be quite tricky due to poor harvesting and post-harvesting practices. Norman has worked with his network of farmers to provide training to improve the overall quality of coffee harvested through better quality control practices.
