TASTE PROFILE: Raspberry, Cola, Maple Syrup, Chocolate, Cinnamon, Clove & Lime ORIGIN: Muzo Washing Station, Northern Province, Gakenke, Rwanda PRODUCER: Muzo Washing Station, Baho Coffee VARIETAL: Red Bourbon PROCESS: Washed ALTITUDE: 1570 - 2200 masl A RED BOURBON FROM THE LAND OF A THOUSAND HILLS. High in Rwanda’s northern hills sits Muzo—small but remarkable. Tucked into the Gakenke District, this is where precision, patience, and purpose collide. Run by Baho Coffee under a 10-year partnership, the washing station invests in more than just clean cherries. It delivers real change • Field schools that train farmers in soil conservation, water protection and waste management • Free cherry collection from high-altitude farms • Bonus pricing, seedling distribution, and micro-loans • Women’s empowerment through Ikizere (“Hope”) initiatives, which include storytelling, health insurance, and access to separate processing lines Baho’s commitment to quality is where they're industry leaders. Hand-picked cherries are floated for density, pulped with precision, and fermented in tanks before an 8-hour soak. Then comes the slow magic: up to 93 days of drying, sun first, then shade, on raised beds for full flavour development. The result? A washed Red Bourbon that bursts with flavours of Raspberry, Cola, Maple Syrup, Chocolate, Cinnamon, Clove and a twist of Lime. Roasted by TRUTH. You’ll taste the difference.
