THAILAND CUP OF EXCELLENCE #5 FARM: De Hmong Biofarm VARIETAL: Gesha PROCESSING: Honey ALTITUDE: 1,450 meters above sea level REGION: Nan Province TASTING NOTES: Jasmine, Tangerine, Black Tea, Silky Mouthfeel From the mountains of northern Thailand, this Treasury release features a honey-processed Gesha lot, cultivated by Wichai Kamnerdmongkon at Coffee De Hmong Bio Farm, a farm that has previously won Cup of Excellence awards. Known for meticulous care and a dedication to sustainability, Wichai’s work has elevated his region within the global specialty coffee scene, combining centuries-old farming wisdom with modern regenerative practices. Nestled in Nan, Thailand, Coffee De Hmong Bio Farm was founded in 2012, inspired by the vision of Wichai’s grandmother to restore the forest. What began as 300 gifted Gesha trees planted on former cabbage and corn fields has grown to 2,400 trees, all nurtured with bio-fertilizers and fully chemical-free, regenerative methods. Every tree and every cherry is cared for with precision, ensuring that the farm produces coffees of extraordinary quality while maintaining harmony with the land. The Cup of Excellence is the highest recognition in specialty coffee, awarded through a strict, multi-stage judging process that elevates outstanding producers worldwide. For more than two decades, COE has highlighted the rarest and most extraordinary coffees through one of the most rigorous evaluation processes in the industry. Each coffee undergoes meticulous assessment to ensure only genuinely exceptional lots earn this distinction, empowering farmers with global visibility, fair reward, and long-term support for their farms.
