Wide Open Road opened in 2010 in Brunswick in a former wool mill on Barkly Street — a vast, warehouse-style café with the roaster in full view. Founder Hagen Sarac wanted a roastery you could eat and drink inside, and the Saturday breakfast queue is now part of Melbourne folklore. The Wide Open Road team roasts a focused range of single-origin espresso and filter coffees plus their Bowery house blend.
