Bridgehead Coffee was founded in 1981 as one of Canada's earliest fair-trade coffee importers and was relaunched as a roastery-cafe chain in Ottawa in 2000. The company roasts 100% organic, fair-trade coffee at its Anchor Roastery on Preston Street and operates roughly 20 cafes across Ottawa. Bridgehead is the dominant specialty chain in the Ottawa market and a long-running fixture in Canadian ethical-sourcing coffee.
