Katana Coffee represents a powerful transformation. When disease devastated their traditional crops, the farmers of Katana village pivoted to coffee. Supported by the RAEK cooperative which provides vital agronomical and technical training, they have since mastered their craft. This commitment to quality is matched by a deep commitment to community, with initiatives providing school supplies, seeds, and shade trees. The coffee is organically grown and certified by ECOCERT, and a special women's lot highlights their inclusive efforts. So, while you enjoy a flavorful, clean cup, you are also empowering local farmers, promoting regenerative agriculture, and supporting sustainable livelihoods for an entire community VARIETAL: Arabica JBM (Typica) and Bourbon ALTITUDE: 1,400 - 1,800 meters PROCESS: Fully Washed (wet fermented, shade dried, sun-dried on beds) or Natural (shade dried, then sun-dried and carefully turned) FLAVOUR: Unique cups, Raspberry - Orange Blossom - Floral REGION: South Kivu
