Julián Calderón is one of those producers where the work feels quiet, deliberate, and extremely precise. Based in Palestina, Huila, he has built a system that makes sense for his land. The Geisha remains in the plot where it performs best, while Rosado has been planted across the rest of the farm. It sounds simple, but that is exactly the point. Good decisions, repeated with consistency, often create the strongest results. This washed Rosado is a clear example of that. According to Herbert many roasters overlook it before they ever understand what it can become. For us, that is exactly where the value sits. A coffee that needs more attention, more control, and more patience, but gives back with clarity, structure, and depth. Julián has worked with LaREB for four years, through Herbert, Matcha, and Sebastián, their head of procurement. A.M.O.C. has followed that same relationship for four years too. There is real trust in this chain, not just because the coffees are excellent, but because the people involved know what they are looking for. Herbert once described Julián’s coffee as clean, bright, transparent, and one of the best coffees LaREB had assessed. We fully understand that. This Rosado carries the same kind of precision: orange, blossom, a crisp structure, and a silky finish. A meticulous Colombian washed lot from a producer who knows exactly where to place each variety, and why.
