AT A GLANCE Savor as a single origin espresso or enjoy in your milk based drinks. THE STORY Uganda, on the shores of Lake Victoria, straddles the equator and is the source of the Nile. Its coffees benefit from a bi-modal rainfall season, high altitudes and a year-round pleasant climate. Mount Elgon is a non-active volcano on Uganda’s border with Kenya and produces some of the country’s most sought after Arabica. The smallholder producers that have contributed to this lot, grow their coffee along the hills surrounding this ancient mountain. Our in-country partner, UGACOF is committed to improving quality in Uganda by building new washing stations and infrastructure and training personnel in the region. They are currently working with more than 8,000 farmers on farming practice, climate-smart agriculture and other best practices that help improve yield and quality while enabling a sustainable future for all.
