Colombia El Indio LiftUp Roast celebrates the vibrant spirit of Planadas, Tolima, a region where smallholder farmers cultivate coffee with extraordinary care and deep-rooted tradition. This microlot comes from families who hand-pick only the ripest cherries, selecting each one with intention before sorting them again to remove any imperfections. In LiftUp Roast's experience, it also shows a very distinct fermented character, a slightly vinegary, almost sour tang that leans into that natural processing profile, giving the cup a bold, fruity edge that’s unusual but surprisingly enjoyable when balanced with its sweeter notes. Basilica Colombia is a specialty Arabica coffee that celebrates the rich landscapes and heritage of Colombia. Grown in the high-altitude mountains of Tolima, this coffee reflects the vibrant character of the region’s volcanic soils and cool climate. Carefully cultivated by smallholder farmers and washed to highlight clarity in the cup, El Indio delivers a lively, fruit-forward profile with notes of tart raspberry, red currant, and dark chocolate, supported by a bright, wine-like acidity and a clean, structured finish. After harvest, the cherries are sun‑dried on raised beds under carefully controlled conditions, allowing the fruit’s natural sugars to concentrate slowly and evenly. This patient process brings out the expressive character that defines El Indio. Made from 100% Caturra a natural mutation of Red Bourbon known for its resilience and exceptional cup quality, this coffee offers a flavor profile that is both bold and elegant. Expect a juicy, fruit‑forward cup layered with notes of blackberry and cherry, lifted by bright tropical hints of passionfruit and orange candy. A deeper sweetness reminiscent of grape reduction and Nutella rounds out the finish, creating a cup that is sweet, complex, and unmistakably Colombian. Colombia El Indio is a joyful expression of natural processing done with precision. Whether you’re savoring it as a morning ritual or sharing it with someone special, this coffee invites you into the richness of Tolima’s terroir, one cup at a time.
