Four founders started Maison Dieu in Brechin in 2020 and opened the town's first specialty cafe and roastery the following year. A second cafe followed in Broughty Ferry in 2023. They roast in the old Sonoco building on Montrose Street, sort their coffees by a colour-coded flavour system, and have served over 500,000 cups.
