With its high elevation and fertile terrain, Mondul is ideally positioned for producing high-quality Arabica coffee. The broader Burka group, which includes Burka, Selian, and Mondul Estates, employs approximately 200 permanent staff and around 200 daily casual workers. During the peak harvest season, the workforce expands to nearly 5,000 individuals, all dedicated to meticulous cherry picking and processing. Mondul places a strong emphasis on worker welfare. All permanent staff are provided housing across four residential camps and receive a minimum salary set at 20% above the national requirement. Contracts include social security benefits and Labour Union membership, while an internal estate credit union supports employees with loans and guidance related to education, healthcare, and home construction.
