Grown in central Kenya in the fertile hills surrounding Mt. Kenya, this coffee is a quintessential example of the high quality coffees produced in Kenya. Here the farm plots are exceptionally small and typically classified by number of trees in production rather than the measurement of physical area of the farm. Such small farms allows each farmer the ability to exercise significant control over the cherries picked and delivered to the wet mill. An abundance of water at the mill allows for their highly developed washing protocols where the beans are soaked for long periods of time before being sun dried on raised beds.
